2 cars, 10 adults, one GPS .... And the Canucks take on the other side of the highway and the right side steering wheel to drive 6 hours to Philip Island to see the Parade of the Penguins ! One word ... Roundabouts, person to the right always has the right of way.
We drove from Warrnambool to Geelong to Queenscliff where we boarded a ferry for a 20 minute crossing. From Sorrento we then went through at least 60 roundabouts before arriving at Philip Island.
Unfortunately the only picture from an incredible two evenings of watching the tiny Penguins come to shore and nestle into their burrows is of the sign. No cameras allowed, it disturbs the penguins. What an incredible experience though. The saying "great things come in small packages" now has a whole new meaning. These little guys are very determined.
We did see one penguin that went even past the viewing centre, so we have a couple of pictures. Also the reason why everyone is asked to check under their vehicle before leaving.
